Leonid Iomdin (Sept 1, 1947 – Sept 18, 2024) was a linguist, specializing in computational linguistics, syntax, and semantics; pioneer of machine translation; author of the New Comprehensive English–Russian Dictionary; head of the Computational Linguistics Laboratory at the Institute for Information Transmission Problems; professor at Russian State University of the Humanities and Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology.
